Behind The Scenes at F&F Head Offices

Along with shortlisted marketing and design students, we were recently welcomed to the F&F head office in Welwyn Garden City to experience a day of discovery, learning and connection.

Graduate Fashion Foundation have partnered with F&F for Graduate Fashion Week 2026 and two student competition briefs for member universities. One is focused on creating a fashion marketing campaign and the other challenges students to design an Autumn/Winter 2026 capsule collection for F&F aimed at quality conscious customers.

Led by Ben Lee, Head of Design, we were welcomed for a day in which the F&F team shared insights into how the different departments operate, from design to merchandising, buying and marketing, as well as the diverse career journeys that led them to their roles at F&F.

In the afternoon, the shortlisted students divided into their respective categories of Design and Marketing to take part in more focused sessions.

The marketing students received a debrief on how the marketing department operates, explored a case study and had the opportunity to participate in a speed networking session with members of the F&F marketing team - gaining valuable advice and insight into careers in fashion marketing.

Meanwhile, design students spent the afternoon getting feedback on their portfolios and presenting their submitted work for the F&F Design brief. This provided an opportunity to discuss their concepts and creative process directly with the design team. Students also received individual guidance on their portfolios, gaining constructive advice and industry insight to help develop their work and better understand what brands like F&F look for in emerging designers.

The day was curated to be interactive and encouraged open conversation between the students and the F&F team, with the students invited to share their perspectives on the industry, such as the future of fashion, trend predictions and what’s exciting right now.
