F&F Design Brief

About

F&F clothing is sold in over 600 Tesco stores across the UK and has an estimated annual turnover of around £2 billion, positioning it among the top supermarket fashion brands in the country. This places F&F among the largest clothing brands in the UK by revenue, especially within the value and supermarket fashion segment. F&F has reported consistent growth in customer numbers, with an 8% increase in shoppers in recent years and has more stores in the UK than Zara, H&M and Primark combined, all of them at the heart of communities across the nation.

F&F pride itself with style being at the core of its proposition and making the aspirational accessible for all - focused on becoming a market leading fashion and lifestyle destination for stylish, desirable, of the moment affordable clothing. We sell Women’s, Mens, Kids, Baby, Lingerie and Sleep wear including an increasingly growing Active and performance wear across all categories. Product that focus on style, quality, design elevation, desirability, performance and a multi lifestyle end use.

Brief

We would like you to design an Autumn / Winter 2026 capsule collection for F&F aimed at our fashion seeking style and quality conscious customer. This could be either sold within our existing ranges to compliment as an edited collection or alternatively as a sub-brand collection at the front of our store. This could also be an elevated premium collection if you wish. 

Your range has to look stylish and on trend taking on relevant market influences as inspiration and be new and exciting for the fashion seeking consumer. Choose to focus on any one of womenswear, menswear, active / athleisurewear, kids wear, or unisex. We are looking for you to create a professional, contemporary digital design portfolio that communicates a range. This will show examples of trend prediction, your design handwriting, attention to detail and understanding of our customer. Please consider fabrications and trims, any aspects such as performance or premium elevations if relevant. We would also like you to include your thoughts on how your range can have sustainable considerations.

Criteria

  • Open to all final year students from Graduate Fashion Foundation member Universities in the UK.

  • If in doubt, please ask your tutor. Tutors, there is unlimited entries per university, please enter all relevant collections.

What to submit

  • Market research context and concept pages for your collection in your chosen category relevant to your customer.

  • A line up of 8-12 piece collection of designs - please show how your commercial research has influenced your designs and factor in an element of digital/3d design where relevant to bring your collection to life.

  • Select one item from your range to be translated into a detailed technical spec drawing identifying fabrics, trims, branding, details, stitching and fit.

Entry process

  • Submissions can only be made by a university tutor and not by the student directly. Late entrants will not be included in the selection process.

One winner will receive 12 months paid placement as an Assistant Designer with one of our market leading design departments, plus have their winning entry on show at Graduate Fashion Week 2026.
