The De Montfort show displayed a mix of individual outfits from 19 designers on our SmartFocus catwalk, each with a unique look.
They graduates displayed an array of talented designs from military gloss straps falling to the floor against a monochrome painted canvas, to bubble gum peach, blue, and pink layered ruffles growing from the models’ bodies.
Next we saw rainbow dresses reminiscent of the Summer of Love and coloured from abstract splatters of paint onto reworked hessian bags, mixed with denim patchwork and printed cardboard for a sassy yet sustainable line up.
There were several knitwear students showcasing some amazing work. Blown up lace patterns in bleached white really stood out against bold colour and showed the intricate details from the designers’ work. The sweaters were beautifully built up with gathers of woollen yarn winding up to the necks of models, adding real dimension to the collection.
