size? has been a sponsor of Graduate Fashion Week for the last 3 years, involving ourselves directly in on-site activations and award sponsorships, we have most importantly assisted students and universities with final collections and exhibitions unveiled at GFW, culminating in our GFW ’19 coverage reaching over 4m people.
The syllabus briefs we would look to engage universities in would contribute to that student’s final submission, then allowing possible selection of the work for Graduate Fashion Week. This is not to say that we cannot work with other year groups simultaneously or singularly.
“size? put a lot of belief and value into their graduates as well as welcoming and encouraging new ideas”
Over the last 20 years size? has had inimitable connections with our community, none more important than the creative and student factions. The syllabus brings these two together to give universities the opportunity to lock in size? as a collaborative partner to set briefs within their respective departments.
Briefs will be intrinsically linked with student learning objectives, maintain course goals and aligned with semester timelines. The ultimate for this initiative is to create the highest standard of work for the university, size? and most importantly the student. We will also offer £100 size? gift cards each going to the best submissions per live brief. If involving a brand, there may be further or alternate incentives in place to reward the most creative and innovative students.
Opportunities for placements and work experience following successful briefs are also always possible, as we look to build, amplify and launch the next generation of industry visionaries.
Live Briefs
First initiating live briefs with universities around 2 years ago as well as attending panel talks, academic days and industry introductions, size? has activated projects with numerous universities up and down the UK including UCLan, Plymouth, MMU and most recently Northumbria and Notts Trent.
Working directly with the university to craft a brief which sits within the course module and is geared towards elevating a cohort’s critical thinking, planning, research, presentation and therefore marked to expected industry standards, size? continue to work with the best creative institutions. Past briefs have included multi-channel retail installations covering all consumer touchpoints from physical to digital, brand campaigns with focus on media & product styling, final GFW catwalk collaborations with Reebok and a size? focused campaign celebrating our 20th birthday year (2020) and how this intertwines with historical moments in streetwear and music throughout the last 20 years.
