Hilary Alexander introduced her guest Mark Heyes to the talk, greeted with cheers and applause from the audience. Mark Heyes is a stylist and has previously styled celebrities such as Lady Gaga. He is well know for being on ITV with Lorraine, which he was part of for 18 years. Mark is now a style consultant with Bonmarché.
As Hilary explained Mark provides the pathway for consumers to from the expensive Vogue clothing like Balenciaga to find similar items for affordable prices. Bonmarché are a sponsor for Graduate Fashion Week and provide “fashion for everybody” as Mark says.
With 3 mannequins providing the audience with a sneak preview on the AW18 collection at Bonmarché called ‘the edit with Mark Heyes,’ the audience were gripped by Heyes’ humour and friendly approach at the talk. The new range comes in sizes 10-24 and provides clothing to suit everybody. His top tips to getting on the industry ladder are to “be nice to everybody.” As he explains you never know that an intern can turn into your boss so treat everyone with respect. He demonstrated this by his keen approach to questions from the graduate audience.
