We’re excited to announce that De Montfort University graduate Mariah Esa has been chosen by the public as the winner of the Shein People’s Choice Award for GFW19! Selected from 28 other collections, Mariah repurposed labels thrown away in the fast fashion industry to create her garments. Sourcing labels which were either over produced or classed as rejects in the fast fashion industry, Mariah recreated them into a base fabric by attaching them together.

As the winner of The People’s Choice Award X SHEIN, Mariah will receive the opportunity to turn her winning collection into a SHEIN womenswear capsule collection to be sold online in SS20, as well as a trip to China in Winter 2019 to see the collection go into production. Congratulations Mariah!
