For the first time ever, we are taking over the second floor of Truman Brewery, to hold a 'Second Floor Showcase'! There will be lots to do and see from exhibitions to presentations with influences and work from all over the world. The second floor exhibition will be showcasing work all four days of GFW from university displays to recruitment advice and is definitely not worth missing! See what's on below. 

 

What to see on Sunday 3rd June

 

10:00-14:00 Glasgow School of Art Presentation

The Glasgow School of Art is Scotland's only public self-governing art school offering university degrees and research in architecture, fine art and design. GSA will be presenting some of their graduate final collections, and showcase the work from their uniquely talented students from various courses.

16:00-20:00 University of Salford Fashion Styling & Image Making presents: Party

The Fashion Image Making & Styling course is unique in its contemporary direction creating work from the likes of photography, styling, videography and more. University of Salford Alumni have been known to go on to work for the likes of brands and associations such as All Saints, Topshop, Vivienne Westwood and BFC. We cannot wait to be mesmerized during GFW by their presentation titled Party.

 

What to see on Monday 4th June

 

17:30-19:30 Manchester Fashion Institute International Fashion Promotion Exhibition

Manchester Fashion Institute aim to create effective communicators who understand the marketplace. Their Fashion Promotion course is about developing skills for successfully promoting fashion styles and brands to a global audience through text and imagery within a range of different media choices. We are thoroughly looking forward to their exhibition inspired by the international diversity of the industry.

 

What to see on Tuesday 5th June:

 10:00-14:00 Royal School of Needlework Interactive Presentation

Join the Royal School of Needlework for its 2018 GFW Interactive Presentation showcasing their students work:  BA (Hons) Hand Embroidery for Fashion, Interiors, Textile Art. There will be an opportunity to take part in an embroidery masterclass with a chanve to learn to hand embroidery alongside experienced students and practitioners.

 

16:00-18:00 Kingston University Drop-In Industry Recruitment

Developing professional skills and employability is a huge part of GFW’s initiative and ambition. Showcasing the upcoming talents and capabilities of today’s graduates and aiding them in the process moving from education to employment is our main aim. Kingston University will be hosting a drop-in industry recruitment talk, allowing students to speak to recruitment professionals for advice for the next steps of their career.

 

What to see on Wednesday 6th June

10:00-16:00 GFF International Exhibition, Diversity in Fashion Education

Graduate Fashion Foundation, the charity behind Graduate Fashion Week will be hosting an exhibition inspired by the international diversity within the fashion industry. GFW over the years has developed into an international showcase generating an expansion in our relationships with further institutions, presenting talent from creative faculties from all over the globe. GFF will cover the immense assortment of artistic capabilities in education from our member institutes, and the importance of diversity in the modern world of fashion.

 

Make sure you visit our second floor exhibition in between watching our catwalk shows, going to our talks and experiencing the unforgettable atmosphere at GFW18!
