Last week was the first in our two week residency with TikTok, where graduates from every GFF university around the country travelled to London to experience the process of designing and making merchandise for TikTok. On Friday we were lucky enough to have one of our GFF ambassadors Henry Holland visit the factory to meet the graduates, hear about their time on the residency and see their creations.
Henry was part of the selection panel that chose the 60 graduates who would be involved in the residency, and was able to see the entire process from mood board and sketches to finished garments! “I’m always bowled over by what these guys achieve with their graduate collections and being in a commercial environment to create something wearable and usable is amazing,” said Henry after he’d seen the first group’s creations on Friday. “Props to the TikTok team for giving them the responsibility, I think they’ve really risen to the challenge.”
We’re currently half way through the second week of the residency with a new group of graduates experiencing everything from design for manufacturing, grading and realising designs into commercial patterns, production lines and quality control.
