Here at Graduate Fashion Week, we have launched three exciting competitions for the students at our member univerisites! We have teamed up with Fatface, Lectra and Lenzing to bring to you three amazing awards with fabulous prizes.
We have firstly teamed up with FatFace to create the Graphic T-shirt Competition. This competition is open to all BA students that are currently studying at Graduate Fashion Week Member Universities. There will be four winners and all will receive the opportunity to attend the 'Best of' Catwalk Show at Graduate Fashion Week on Wednesday 6th June, where you will be given a framed copy of the t-shirt. You will also have your designs produced and sold in Fatface stores. Alongside this there is a cash prize of £500 for the student and £250 to the Winners University. To be in with a chance of winning this competition, you must create illustrations to design a T-shirt for Fatface.
The next competition we have is the Lectra Iconic Redesign Pattern Competition. Lectra has teamed up with Graduate Fashion Week and Vivienne Westwood to create this creative pattern cutting competition.
It is open to all BA students from Graduate Fashion Week Member Universities. This is the opportunity to research and analyse the inspiration behind one of the selected Vivienne Westwood iconic designs to re-create the piece giving it a modern twist. The selected finalist will have their garment digitalised into the Lectra Modaris 2D and 3D environment before the final garment is produced. The prize for this competition is a high spec laptop with Lectra Modaris 3D software installed and £500 prize money. The initial deadline for the designs and toile submission is 30th March.
Lastly, we bring you the Lenzing Sustainable Denim Competition! Supporting their vision of sustainability in fashion, this competition requires entrants to create a garment/accessory piece/collection that has a commercially viable style with a strong story behind it. By designing a a denim product, you maybe in with the chance to win £1000! The deadline for this competition is Friday 9th March.
