Ahead of pride celebrations in Brighton this weekend, Boohoo man have released a special collection in honour of the LGBTQ+ rights celebration in collaboration with activist and creative Philip Normal.
Boohoo were a sponsor at this year’s Graduate Fashion Week, naming Nathalie Clarkson, a graduate of Ravensbourne with the Boohoo Social Media award. Here at Graduate Fashion Week we’re all about fashion that has something to say, pushing boundaries and making the fashion industry a more inclusive place, so the release of this collection is something we’re excited about!
The special edition creative selection features tshirts exclaiming ‘hi hun’ as well as long length vests emblazoned with ‘what other people think of you is none of your business’. Of course the colour scheme is primarily based upon an array of rainbow hues, in recognition of the LGBTQ+ flag. Garish prints and comfortable silhouettes make the pieces optimum for this weekends celebrations, whether you're enjoying street parties and the beach or out campaigning.
Philip Normal is known for his appropriation of pop iconography and political statements, making him the perfect collaborator for these pieces. Boohoo said “we support people from all walks of life and want to help build a brand that breaks down barriers,” the etailer said.
The pieces are an amalgamation of colourful design, important political and social thoughts and most importantly, celebrate #loveislove.
