The Mentoring Programme highlights the many different opportunities and careers in fashion and empowers young people from all backgrounds to get involved in the creative industries. The mentoring programme will involve five key industry mentors, coupled with one mentee each, who will work together over a period of four months. The programme is open to any young people 18+ starting their careers in the fashion industry or aspiring to do so; no academic background is required.
A part of the British Fashion Council’s mentoring programme, with a focus around non- designer access to the creative industries for young people.
Launched by Adwoa Aboah five key industry mentors and mentees will work togetherover a period of four months from Sept – Jan.
The purpose of the scheme is to highlight different careers in fashion other than fashion design. The programme include four compulsory meetings, where the mentees will meet with their mentors for two hours. Mentees will have the opportunity to attend London Fashion Week at the end of their mentorship.
Key Dates:
14th October Deadline to submit applications to the BFC
17th October Shortlist to be shared with mentors
25th October Successful candidates notified
31st October Mentorship to commence
