1pm: GFW Live! Building Responsible and Ethical Fashion at Scale. Presented by F&F

  • Truman Brewery 15 Hanbury Street London, England, E1 6QR United Kingdom (map)

This session explores how major retailers and innovators can accelerate progress in responsible fashion. It opens with a look at building a career in fashion sustainability and how ethics and sustainability are embedded into strategy, before moving into the future of more accountable fashion systems — including the work of the Circular Textile Foundation and Plan B, and how their systems and partnership work are helping brands shift towards more circular models. Expect sharp insights, practical takeaways and a look at shaping a more responsible future for mainstream fashion retail.

Meet the speakers:

Johanna is F&F’s Head of Technical – Raw Materials & Sustainability at Tesco, where she leads the team responsible for sustainability across the Home and Clothing business. She has held senior roles across Tesco and Primark spanning sustainability, ethical trade, sourcing and brand, and has led global ethical audit programmes for major retailers, giving her deep expertise in complex international supply chains and driving practical change at scale. Her career in sustainability began early, including work with the Environment Agency and supporting a Member of Parliament.

Tim Cross is the CEO and Founder of the Circular Textiles Foundation, with over 30 years of experience in garment manufacturing. He is also the founder of Project Plan B, focused on creating recyclable clothing, and partnered with Salvation Army Trading Company to establish Project Re:claim — the UK’s first commercial-scale textile-to-textile polyester recycling facility. Through the Circular Textiles Foundation, he now works to connect brands with recycling technologies and deliver certification and training in Design for Recyclability, helping scale practical solutions for circular fashion systems.
