The Graduate Fashion Foundation are excited to announce the Young Talent of Tomorrow Fashion Design Competition 2027.
Creative design talents between the ages of 11-18 are invited to reimagine, rework and reinvent materials into new designs. Creating garments out of existing materials and fabrics, reinventing an item through considered design, inspires a more sustainable approach to fashion.
Graduate Fashion Foundation invites you to research materials that could be reused, discover the opportunities that recycling gives us and design two garments made out of these materials. Include your research, an explanation on why you selected certain fabrics or waste streams and how you would reimagine them into outfits.
We invite young people to design two looks, to be brought to life and celebrated at Graduate Fashion 2027.
The Young Talent of Tomorrow Fashion Design Competition will have three winning outfits across corresponding age categories, with prizes including tickets to GFW 2027, an invite to an online workshop to create their winning designs digitally and printed and framed versions of their celebrated work.

Brief
Calling all future fashion designers! Looking for an opportunity to showcase your creative talents and show at Graduate Fashion Week 2027?
The Graduate Fashion Foundation are excited to announce the Young Talent of Tomorrow Fashion Design Competition 2027.
We invite you to design two garments, following the theme of ‘Reimagine, rework and reinvent’. You might take a look at tents made into outdoor clothing, plastic bottle recycling or natural materials turned back into thread for reuse.
Start with research and share your thought process on the research page. Then move onto designing! Think about shape, colour and a story to tell with your entry.
To enter, submit two pages, one design page and one research page. On the design page, include 2 x full outfits based on the theme and tell us all about your process, inspirations and designs on your research page.
Criteria
The competition is open to all students studying textiles, art or a relevant design subject between the ages of 11 - 18.
You must be based in the UK.
You must submit two pages in order to be considered.
What to submit
A two page PDF, files named with the entrants name and school.
One page must be a research page and one page a design page
Please ensure your PDF is under 5MB

Prizes
There are two categories of prizes, across the different age groups. Each category, Year 7 - 9 | Year 10 - 11 | Year 12 - 13 / College will have one winner and two runners up.
1st Prize:
Your winning design will be digitally made and showcased at Graduate Fashion Week on Thursday 17th June 2027
Tickets for you, your teacher and your family to attend GFW26 and watch the show
Your entry will be shown throughout the four day event in London
Participation in a digital workshop and a trophy
Runner Up Prizes:
Tickets for you, your teacher and your family to attend GFW26 to watch a catwalk show on Thursday 18th June 2026
Your work will be digitally showcased on the catwalk screen during the show.
