About me _____

Specialised in menswear, hand embellishment & illustrated print.

I am a London-based designer with a focus on surface detail and narrative-led design. Working at the intersection of tradition and innovation, my practice is rooted in a deep appreciation for storytelling and beauty through art. During my final year at university I designed and manufactured tailored menswear.

I have a strong passion for formal menswear, particularly tailored garments such as suits and shirts. My work is driven by a fascination with historical narratives, romance, and mythology, which I explore through surface design, printmaking, and embroidery. Drawing inspiration from artists like Pietro Ruffo, I am especially interested in the use of intricate motifs and symbolism. I approach design through rigorous research, often referencing art history and creating hand-drawn patterns before developing textile samples. I am committed to craftsmanship and the considered use of materials.

Planning the Evolution of My Design Work

Alongside historical references, my collection was also shaped by today’s political landscape, particularly ongoing cuts to the arts and the commodification of creativity. I wanted to draw parallels between the patronage systems of the 18th century and modern forms of cultural gatekeeping. This contrast allowed me to explore how art remains deeply politicised.

I plan to expand my print and embellishment work through deeper art historical research and frequent gallery visits to discover new visual references. I will branch into womenswear while ensuring that storytelling, beauty, and historical elements guide each design. By combining motifs drawn from different eras with careful tailoring and sustainable materials, I will create collections that connect past narratives to present contexts. My aim is to develop pieces that engage emotionally, celebrate heritage, and offer fresh interpretations of what opulence can look like.
