A Fashion Design graduate from De Montfort University
Alanna Doyle is a womenswear fashion designer who specialises in creating pieces inspired by tailoring. Her research has a personal connection to the tailoring of the Jewish East End of London where she celebrates her family history. She aims to create pieces that empower women whilst embracing her heritage.
With current affairs many women have been concealing their identities which is something I aim to celebrate within my work. I am proud of my family’s Jewish heritage and their history of tailoring. I have used engineered print of tailored garments combined with real tailoring elements within my work celebrating my great-grandfather's work.

Family Threads
The East End of London is rich with its tailoring history which is where both my great-grandfather and grandfather worked in their own factory where they designed, pattern cut, manufactured and sold their own garments. I was inspired by the idea of the ‘factory floor’ and the tailored garments that were made within the factory.
Carrying on my great-grandfather’s legacy was a vocal point when creating my collection. The coats and jackets my great-grandfather made for the women within my family has fuelled me within my own work. I drew inspiration from the silhouettes of these family heirlooms when creating my own designs for my final collection. I combined this with digital print to create trompe l'oeil details on each piece.
