About me _____
I am a women’s knitwear designer, with a focus on material experimentation and storytelling through knit. My practice is rooted in using unconventional yarns, from metal and monofilament to silk, metal blends, to challenge traditional perceptions of knitwear. My work is deeply tactile and conceptually layered, combining technical skill with emotional depth.

Lace and steel: exploring forgotten legacies through experimental knitwear narratives.
Inspired by the industrial legacy of Teesside and the elegance of historical lace, my work explores contrasts between strength and delicacy. Drawing on Jeanne Paquin’s radical use of black and her redefinition of femininity, I reinterpret local heritage through unconventional yarns. Knitted lace, metal, and monofilament become tools to honour resilience, blending industrial form with emotional craft and forgotten beauty.

“Jeanne Paquin proves women have always led in innovation. Though history forgot her, her legacy urges us to reclaim space, create boldly, and never wait for permission to be seen.”
