IED Barcelona is part of the Istituto Europeo di Design (IED), the largest network of European Arts and Design schools, with 11 locations across Spain, Italy and Brazil. With a campus comprising two buildings located in the Gràcia district, it has an established trajectory of more than 20 years in the city of Barcelona, training new generations of designers and creative agents of change. It offers bachelor’s degrees, master’s programmes, Bachelor of Arts (Hons) and specialisation courses in the fields of Fashion, Visual Arts, Design and Communication. Every year, it welcomes 1,400 students from more than 100 nationalities.

The BA (Hons) in Fashion Design, validated by the University of Westminster, prepares you to anticipate the needs of the fashion market by combining historical awareness with innovation. Studying at a leading design school, you will develop a perspective that connects past, present and future. Through research and experimentation, you will build your own creative identity while engaging with the realities of the industry. Guided by practising professionals, you will begin designing from your first year, working with textiles and pattern-making to create your own collections. This BA (Hons) in Fashion Marketing and Communication, awarded by the University of Westminster, introduces you to the fashion industry from a strategic and creative perspective. The Foundation in Fashion offers an introduction to the world of fashion design, ideal if you are considering specialising in the field. It allows you to explore your creativity and passion while gaining the fundamental knowledge and tools needed for future university studies. With a strong focus on individuality, the programme supports your personal development through tailored guidance. You will learn from experienced professionals, including lecturers from IED Barcelona’s official degree courses, gaining insight into one of the most respected international fashion schools. Across two semesters, you will first build a foundation in areas such as trends visual language, history and fashion photography, before developing the technical skills required to create a collection. The course concludes with the production of a personal portfolio you can use when applying for a university degree course.
